We’ve already had here projection screening on a face, then we’ve seen projection screening on two faces at the same time. Now it’s time to go to the next level.
Ok, maybe it isn’t a step up, more as a side step..since it’s awesome in a different kind of way, but you get my point. Anyway, what would you say if you saw your tattoos move? Yes, I know, you would be freaked out, since the one thing the tattoos shouldn’t be doing is moving, but it would be something different at least. And exactly that was archived by the Portuguese video-mapping duo of Oskar & Gaspar, in their project Ink Mapping, done in Lisbon this year. They used the tattoos on the models (art done by Eduardo Cavellucci and Igor Gama) as a basis for their amazing live, moving projection. According to the authors, no post processing was done on the video, so what you can see is the exact thing that was done on that day. Be it the slithering snake, floating manta, swirling mandala, or a flying origami crane, all of them look mesmerizing. And now tell me how cool it would be to have something similar on you. In case you do have some tattoos that is. In case you don’t you can still try the face mapping.
Don’t forget to check out the other projects by Oskar and Gaspar, all of them are worth it.
